Bio

Rachel Kelly, choral composer and conductor

Rachel Kelly is a music educator, choral director, composer, arranger and pianist, As a sought after choral conductor, she has led massed choirs at events such as the Schools Spectacular, the Festival of Choral Music at the Sydney Opera House, and Southern Stars – The Arena Spectacular.

 

Rachel is the conductor of the New South Wales Public Schools Junior Singers, the Sydney North Vocal Ensembles and the Pennant Hills High School Choir. She loves composing for young voices and creating works that will inspire a lifelong love of music and singing. As a devotee of music for the stage, she was thrilled to compose for the AMEB Musical Theatre syllabus.

 

Rachel also runs workshops and creates online resources to develop the choral conducting skills of school teachers. She has a Bachelor of Music Education from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and an A.Mus.A in piano. Rachel lives in Sydney, Australia, with her partner, daughter, and a border collie named Darby.
