Where the Sky Meets the Sea

The inspiration for this song comes from characters in childhood stories who are small or young, but have grand adventures and are courageous in the face of adversity. Singers will love the ocean imagery and the rise and fall of the melody, as well as the excitement of the bridge. Adding a richness of colour, the harmonies are easily accessible to intermediate choirs.

Lyrics
I stand at the bow
At the breaking dawn
Of a bright new morning
And I hear a song
From a time so long ago
It tells of a place
Where the sky and the sea become one
A mystery
On the edge of all we know
I am small but I'm mighty
Valiant and brave
Facing the storm
Riding the wave
Winds of adventure
Are calling to me
So I'll sail to the east
Where the sky meets the sea
Diving into the deepest depths
Find a lost city
Climbing up to the high crow's nest
Look as far as the eye can see
I am small but I'm mighty
Valiant and brave
Facing the storm
Riding the wave
Winds of adventure
Are calling to me
So I'll sail to the east
And I'll go where I please
Yes I'll sail to the east
Where the sky meets the sea
